Beginner Tutorial = Result: undefined

Hello all,

I am doing some beginner totorials following these intrustions:

• In InDesign, start a new document, create a text frame, and fill it with placeholder text. Place the cursor somewhere in the text.

• In the ESTK, place the cursor in the blank script window, type app.selection[0] and  run this one line.

The console ESTK is suppose to report [object InsertionPoint].

but my I am getting this error 'undefined is not an object'

The tut is acutally for CS3 but I imagine the basics should still be valid in CS6?

Can anyone please shed some light on this?
